Happy Food is Good Food

Today the nutritionist taught us how to buy the right foods to cook with. On the fruit you buy, there is almost always a sticker with a number with 5 or 4 digits. If the number has a nine at the front, you know it is organic, a four would be non-organic, or a three. We went to the farmers market and learned the difference between happy and sad food. For example, a chicken that was caged its whole life would be sad and unhealthy, but a chicken that could roam free in a barn or field would be happy and would taste better and be better for you. We learned that some cows are grain-fed, and some fed grain directly before they die, so that the cow can be fat and more meat can be sold.
