The knights and their chivalry

Were picked for their quality

To fight the troll under the tree

Of Wonders and Adventure

They got set for their journey

And the knights met with the attorney

Who showed a sketch of their tourney

And into the woods they did venture

The woods were bejeweled by the sun’s rays

And the air was thick with a blurry haze

They found the troll after many delays

And to that began the adventure

The knights fought the troll with sword and shield

And with them the troll’s fate was sealed

The knights fought the troll until, dead, it kneeled

And so finished the adventure

They cleaned their gashes

And burned the troll to ashes

With flames and great flashes

Then to home they venture

Later fabliaux were widespread

Of where the knights had tread

And the troll that they had laid dead

The knights had their adventure
